I really like the idea of natural burial and preferably on preserved, natural land. There are a number of green cemeteries sprinkled around the U.S, the U.K., Canada and other countries. I would love to have a local option for me and my loved ones.
What do you think about promoting this concept along side land conservation? Might area land trusts get involved? I'm especially wondering if there are model business plans that a group could use to form a not-for-profit green cemetery that aims to put all its revenue into preserving and adding to preserved land, as well as minimally maintaining the cemetery portion of the property to allow access to internment sites.
Would it be more beneficial for land conservation to create for-profit natural cemeteries in order to raise the most capital quickly and resulting in much larger conserved tracts?
